Dr. Deborah Day is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at Acadia University and a Certified Canadian Counsellor. Her research and teaching in the graduate programme in counselling have considered personal and career development. Deborah's research projects have explored resilience and self-authorship and she has been extensively involved in public-sector programme development and evaluation.Currently she is undertaking evaluation research with the Healthy Relationships for Youth programme of the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre and Sexual Assault Services Association.

Dr. M. Lynn Aylward is a Professor in the School of Education at Acadia University. Her teaching and research explore inclusion and equity within teacher education and related professional and community organisations. Lynn's research projects and program development are focused on community and culture-based schooling, gender diversity, rurality and dis/ability. In addition to continuing the Rural Girls' related work , Lynn is working on a research project about the Luke Elwood Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Section 15) legal challenge that was settled in 1987. The legal case was one of the first steps towards Inclusive Education for disabled students in Nova Scotia schools. The research project will generate a digital learning space, an archive and a documentary film.
